MPUG Western NY: Bringing MS Projects to Life – Evolving Project Management Through the Use of Simulation Software

Published Date

MPUG will host a "hands on" event that deals with Simulation Based Training and how it can improve project results. PMI members are invited and can receive 4 PDU. Event Description: This interactive event will include a hands-on lab featuring “Project Team Builder” (PTB) by SandboxModel. This scientifically based project simulator enables users to test project assumptions in scheduling, budgeting, resourcing and quality all with the goal of reducing project risk and generating better project results. We will spend the evening in the computer lab exploring what happens when we take a MS Project file and run it through the simulator. Learning Objectives: MPUG participants will explore the use of simulation software to test scheduling and planning strategies as part of project management efforts to handle risk and improve results. MPUG participants will examine the concept of using predefined project use cases for on the job training within the workplace environment. MPUG participants will experience the simulation environment, “hands on”, by completing a short simulation.
